JJ Sulin grew up outside Chicago watching Ferris Bueller, so when Walmart called with a campaign built around it, shot by DP Mandy Walker, he was all in.

The brief was a riff on Ferris Bueller's Day Off, with comedian Anna Faris at the center. It was the kind of creative that asks the whole team to bring their sense of humor. JJ was the perfect man for the job.

He shot stills alongside the motion team, which on a production like this means he needed to be an expert at reading the room. Know when to stay out of the frame and when to be exactly where the moment is about to happen. His crew ran lean by design, everything within reach, communication fast and often wordless. That efficiency is what lets JJ stay locked into the set instead of managing along the edges of it.

The shoot delivered a strong range of images across every format Walmart needed, from web to social to paid.
