JJ Sulin has always been drawn to a subjects personal journey and their lived experiences that shape who they become. With a desire to photograph people in a truly raw and gritty way, he put out a simple request on Craigslist, inviting strangers to share their stories.

These images are the portraits of those who volunteered. Armed with only his camera, JJ photographed them in their homes or in the spaces where they feel most at ease.
