For this multi city, multi state project, Nils Ericson was tasked with capturing each location in a way that felt distinct while staying true to Bob’s brand.
From city to city, the settings and stories shifted. In Minneapolis, Nils photographed a charming neighborhood Porchfest, where Bob’s showed up as cake shared with attendees. In Portland, Oregon, the shoot centered on a multi generational planned community, documenting a family meal built around pancakes. In Springfield, Illinois, the team visited a local farm hosting a farm to table pizza night, where kids took the lead, harvesting vegetables, assembling pizzas, and running the show. The project wrapped in Providence, Rhode Island at a Santa Claus club, capturing members baking cookies together.
Across each vignette, Nils focused on genuine moments of people coming together around food made with Bob’s ingredients. The project is a clear example of his ability to bring an editorial, documentary style to commercial work, grounded in observation, humanity, and real life.
The shoot came together with an easy rhythm, even with that midwestern summer heat trying to get in their way! As Nils put it, everything clicked. The weather cooperated, flights were smooth, the creative was great, talent was awesome, and the crew was A+.
