About Erin Kunkel

Erin is an award-winning photographer and director who works around the world, but calls the foggy outerlands of San Francisco home. With deep roots in New York, Los Angeles, and Hawaii, she's just as comfortable working close to home as she is halfway across the globe. Erin and her husband, a renowned woodworker and surfboard shaper- spend their time traveling, hosting friends, and finding inspiration at their rural getaway. 

Collaborative, optimistic, and deeply detail-oriented, Erin brings warmth and humanity to everything she creates. Her images reflect a natural sense of light, connection, and craft that feel distinctly her own. 

Erin is happiest exploring the world alongside her favorite clients and crew. Well-traveled and always up for an adventure, she thrives in new places and unexpected moments. When not on the road, she can be found in her garden, cooking for friends, or working on her San Francisco home and studio, or her mountain cabin. Both spaces are available for photo shoots/location rentals.
