For Safaricom’s calendar, Osborne Macharia brought his signature approach to light, color, and composition to a project celebrating Kenya’s evolution through creativity, innovation, and cultural spirit. It reflects a nation shaped by digital progress while staying deeply rooted in its identity.
Working from a clear creative direction, Osborne focused on execution, pushing lighting to overpower the sun and create bold, sculptural rim light across outdoor scenes. Indoor setups offered more control, allowing for precise refinement of tone and balance. Most of what you see was built in camera, with minimal CGI and a strong emphasis on detail.
As Osborne shares, “A lot of credit goes to my stills crew in Nairobi. We packed an immense amount into four days, moving across multiple locations each day. They stayed focused, steady, and never missed a beat.”
