Nils recently reconnected with Fear of God for their Jackie Robinson Collection, leaning into a quieter, more intimate kind of storytelling. Shot alongside motion, the project follows a single morning in Jackie Robinson’s life, before the stadium, before the spotlight. Breakfast at the table. Stepping outside to hit a few balls with neighborhood kids. The familiar rhythm of routine. It’s a perspective that centers the man, not the myth.
Nils approaches each frame with a documentary eye, capturing moments as they unfold and letting the product live naturally within them. Nothing forced, nothing overworked. The result feels intimate and intentional, a reminder that everyday moments can carry real weight, and that the strongest storytelling doesn’t shout, it just lands.
